CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

 

Mission

The mission of the program is to train and raise intermediate/semi-skilled personnel who tends to both the normal and special needs of children, who supports all of their fields of development, who provides services to the child, family, educator and society, who prioritizes the benefits towards human beings and the environment, who features interdisciplinary work, who configures the relationships between national and international institutions and who is a sharing, participating, critical thinking, innovative and productive individual, all of which that accords with the primary purposes of the Turkish National Education System.

Vision

Our vision is to become a leader institution of education in terms of training and raising intermediate/semi-skilled personnel who respects universal values, who is able to provide for the necessities of our time, who is sensitive towards public health, environmental issues, occupational and ethical responsibilities and who can take initiative and can conduct research regarding the problems in the field of child development while at the same time providing a collaboration between the university and society. Furthermore, we aim to be an institution which encourages teamwork, which has a participatory and sharing administration and which is known by its characteristics of high quality education and research capabilities.

Awarded Degree

The student is awarded with the Associate’s Degree in the field of Child Development, given that he/she completes the program successfully and achieves all of the program qualifications.

Graduation Requirements

The students who successfully complete all of the required courses, who have a CGPA equivalent to or over 2.00 and who have achieved 120 ECTS (AKTS) are entitled to the diploma of this program.

Program Qualifications

1             Carries out professional requirements in the field of child development and education.

2             Pays attention to children about proper and good usage of Turkish language.

3             Prepares and applies the appropriate activities in respect to child development and children`s cognitive, affective and psycho-motor development.

4             Recognizes the relationship of the among society, family and child; communicates effectively with child.

5             Plans and applies play, drama, music and animation activities.

6             Follows feeding behaviour of children.

7             Plans and applies activities for children with special needs.

8             Plans and applies science and technology education and math and science activities for children.

9             Plans and applies activities in the flow of daily plan.

10           Uses, prepares and maintaines equipments, materials and documents around work environment, plans and applies activities

11           Obtains knowledge and skills about family education.

12           Obtains knowledge and skills about child health and illnesses.

13           Leads to children about to gain goods habits and has knowledge and skills about classroom management.

14           Possess sufficient consciousness about the issues of universality of social rights, social justice, quality, cultural values and environmental protection.

15           Improves and supports consciousnees of social responsibility, self confidence, social susceptibility and awareness.
