Environmental Health Program

Mission

The mission of the program is to train and raise individuals who can adjust to the rapidly improving and changing conditions of the 21st century, who has top-tier knowledge and skills, who can take responsibility regarding teamwork and who is sensitive towards environmental problems and ethical values.

Vision

The vision of this program is to be a leader in the field regarding the training and raising of environmental specialists who can be employed in both the public and the private sectors regarding environmental health which are specialized in research, development, protection, taking precautions and monitoring.

Awarded Degree

The student who is graduated from the Environmental Health Program is awarded with the Associate’s Degree. The graduates have the authorization of an “Environmental Health Specialist”.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate and according to the Bologna Criteria, students must obtain a minimum amount of 120 ECTS (AKTS), have a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and successfully complete the summer internship.

Program Qualifications

  1. Obtains the basic theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the field.
  2. Obtains detailed information in terms of the basic components of the ecosystem.
  3. Obtains knowledge regarding environmental pollution and methods of measuring and purification.
  4. Obtains the skills of interpreting and evaluating data, defining and analyzing problems and developing solutions based on facts using the basic knowledge which is acquired through education.
  5. Acquires awareness regarding occupational safety, worker health, the protection of the environment and quality.
  6. Obtains the basic skill of the usage of computer software and hardware which is required by the field.
  7. Acquires application skills via investigating operation procedures of the sectors which specialize in environmental health.
  8. Obtains the skills of working both individually and in a group via an interdisciplinary fashion and taking responsibility.
  9. Obtains the skill of generating solutions when encountered with unpredictable situations.
  10. Obtains the characteristic of lifelong learning through consistently following the scientific and technological developments.
  11. Masters the written and verbal communication techniques regarding the field.
  12. Chooses and effectively uses the required modern techniques, tools and information technologies for the relevant applications of the field.
  13. Acquires knowledge regarding the legal legislation of the field along with the skill to interpret the aforementioned legislation.
  14. Acquires an awareness/sense of universal, societal and occupational ethics.
