FIRST AID AND EMERGENCY PROGRAM

Mission

The mission of the program is to especially train and raise intermediate/semi-skilled personnel who is qualified in order to tend to the needs of the country and can give the relevant health services, who prioritizes the benefits towards human beings and the environment, who features interdisciplinary work, who configures the relationships between national and international institutions and who is a sharing, participating, critical thinking, innovative and productive individual.

Vision

Our vision is to become a leader institution of education in terms of training and raising intermediate/semi-skilled personnel who respects universal values, who is able to provide for the necessities of our time, who is sensitive towards public health, environmental issues, occupational and ethical responsibilities and who can take initiative while at the same time providing a collaboration between the university, the health sector and society. Furthermore, we aim to be an institution which encourages teamwork, which has a participatory and sharing administration and which is known by its characteristics of high quality education and research capabilities.

Awarded Degree

The student is awarded with the Associate’s Degree in the field of “Emergency and First Aid”, given that he/she completes the program successfully and achieves all of the program qualifications.

Graduation Requirements

The students who successfully complete all of the required courses, who have a CGPA equivalent to or over 2.00, who have achieved 120 ECTS (AKTS) and who complete the summer internship which lasts for 30 working days are entitled to the diploma of this program.

Program Qualifications

1. Understands the structural and functional properties of the human body.
2. Protects the Health and implements security measures.
3. Helps patient / injured by evaluating and analyzing the problem.
4. Identifies data specific emergency maintenance issues.
5. Recognizes all the materials and equipments in the ambulance and can properly use and maintain them.
6. Helps patient / injured appropriately, if necessary, moves them to the ambulance and deliver them to the medical staff at a health facility.
7. In a pre-hospital event/process regarding a physical injury, follows and applies scientific and technological procedures related to emergency care and constantly improves himself/herself in the field.
8. Uses all the knowledge acquired in the field of patient / injured to conduct scientific evaluation and therapy.
9. In an event regarding motorized vehicles, takes the necessary measures and applies them on driving safety.
10. Establishes proper communication between individuals and institutions.
11. Takes part in team work in cooperation with other units.
12. Establishes a basic level of communication in a foreign language to make applications for the profession.
13. Understands basic legislation related to the field of professional, patient and acts in accordance with his rights and obligations and adhere to professional ethics.
14. Can execute self-care, would be an example to the community by their attitude and behavior.

Purpose of the Program
information emerging to serve the emergency medical system in our country and the world, equipped with skills and experience, exhibiting behavior appropriate to the deontological values, able to follow developments is to train members of the profession who think modern and scientific.
Goals of the program
Medical ethics and deontological rules related to, and respects the rights of patients and to train qualified people at any moment have the qualifications to fulfill the task in any conditions.
Ratings Received
Program Qualifications satisfies, when successfully completed, the Emergency and First Aid area (level 5) is owned Bachelor`s degree.
Graduation Requirements
Upon successful completion of the entire course of the program, the overall academic grade point average of 2.00 or higher, students who successfully complete 30 business days of summer internships are awarded diplomas.
