Mission
The mission of the program is to train and raise qualified individuals who can keep up with the modern-day health system and technologies, who has the knowledge and skills which are required by the field of Home Patient Care, who can recognize situations which requires home care and can provide solutions regarding problems, who feels responsibility towards the individual who receives service and his/her social circle within the framework of health promotion and protection, who can implement the home care applications in terms of patient rights, who adheres to the principles of Ataturk and who is suitable for team work.
Vision
Our vision is to be the inquisitive, scientific, and occupational institution of education which is a leader in the sector of health training, which is preferred by students, which provides education in the national and international quality standards, which collaborates with other institutions with regards to health services and which takes responsibility in terms of the protection and promotion of public health.
Goal
The goal of the program is to train and raise a “Home Patient Care Specialist” who is able to provide a quality and effective home care to the patient and their family in their own locality in terms of psycho-social, physiological and medical support.
Objectives
The objectives of the program are to equip the student with the consciousness of responsibility which is required by the program, to make him/her confident, suitable for team work, knowledgeable and to make him/her conduct the relevant applications of home patient care, health promotion and health protection in a high quality and effective manner.
Awarded Degree
Students who successfully complete the program are given the Associates’ Degree in the field of Home Patient Care.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, students must successfully complete the mandatory courses, obtain a minimum amount of 120 ECTS (AKTS) and have a minimum CGPA of 2.00 over 4.00.
Program Qualifications
- Identifies the problems via the acquired knowledge in the field of home patient care and by using the required data, carries out planning and implementation processes towards solving these problems and offers a solution.
- Provides home care services within the scope of ethical values and principles
- Acquires sufficient knowledge of a foreign language and skill in terms of technology usage with regards to home patient care applications.
- Provides an effective communication process between individuals and institutions via using the knowledge, skills and communication techniques which are acquired from the field of home patient care.
- Completes the given task as an individual who has the skills of lifelong learning, creativity and innovativeness.
- Executes a task independently by using the accumulation of knowledge obtained in the field of home care.
- Acquires sufficient awareness regarding the universality of social rights, social justice, public health, occupational health and safety.
- Provides services through collaboration with colleagues within home patient care applications.
- Uses the required information-communication technologies in terms of accessing information in the field of home patient care and follows the relevant advances in the field.
- Provides services in the required fields as an individual who has technical experience, who is knowledgeable and specialized in the field of home patient care.
- Serves as a model citizen with his/her thoughts and actions.
- Takes the precautions which improves and strengthens the physical, psychological, social and economic aspects of the patients and provides home care in accordance with the specified requirements.
- Plans the required training activities with regards to the promotion and protection of health, gives the relevant education and participates in the projects and activities in his/her near neighborhood with a feeling of social responsibility.
- Acts accordingly to the quality management and processes during the period of providing health care services.
15. Provides functions which contributes to health care towards groups with special needs such as children, disabled people and the elderly.
