The “ITU Awards,” organized annually by Istanbul Technical University (ITU), aim to honor researchers who prioritize social contribution, develop new technologies, prioritize university-industry collaboration, and produce projects, patents, and product-focused studies with an innovative perspective, as well as those who make valuable contributions to the world of science, education, and social fields. The ITU Awards are given in eight categories: Science Awards, Education and Training Awards, Scientific Copyrighted Work Award, University-Industry Collaboration Award, International Collaboration Award, Innovation Award, Service Award, and Special Award. The Science Award, among the aforementioned categories, is open to researchers working at higher education institutions and research organizations outside of ITU, through individual application or nomination. The Special Award is awarded only through nomination, and researchers working at institutions outside of ITU may also be nominated. The theme for the 2025 Special Award was determined by the ITU Senate as “Control and Automation Engineering.” This year`s Special Award recognizes Prof. Dr. It will be given in memory of Mehmet Nimet ÖZDAŞ.
